Monthélie "Clou des Chenes" 1er Cru 2008, Eric de Suremain

This is a traditionally-crafted pinot representing the best that can be achieved from the sometimes chewy Monthélie terroir. Pleasant strawberry aromas, this is soft and feminine reminiscent of the rose petals scene in American Beauty. Spicy and intriguing this is a multi-layered wine and will be best in a magnum format to preserve the fresh plum fruit. Courtesy of the Justerini & Brooks annual Burgundy tasting.
