Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "En Virondot" 2005, Marc Morey

The tasting notes for this Chassagne 1er Cru possibly don't do the wine justice. Remus of Queen's Park noted an element of "Tesco... in a positive way". This 5 year old chardonnay has a thick yellow colour most likely from the sunshine of 2005. Aromas of buttered leeks, brown rice, Jerusalem artichoke, chanterelles mushrooms cooked in butter. Soft and round on the palate. "Smells like Marseille" chips in Remus. And from Kirsten "That's a really nice label. I like the calligraphy and the crest on the top is really pretty". This did however occasion a prolonged debate about the loud green colour of the label and the way it clashed with the bottle-green. The value of the debate then tailed off into even less interesting matters.
