Savigny-lès-Beaune 2004, Rollin Père & Fils

I last tasted this Savigny 2004 in September 2007 at the domaine and enjoyed the wine at the time. The evolution has been consistent: attractive cherry/ruby colour, enjoyable aromas of cooked rhubarb, crushed cassis, lichen-covered stones and briar. Imagine you are walking on Scafell Pike (see photo) in the Lake District and you have the right feeling of rustic tranquility. Fully mature and very good to drink this wine is a big success for the 2004 vintage. Worth ruminating on as you listen to Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here".
