Puligny-Montrachet 2007, Etienne Sauzet

The Domaine Etienne Sauzet is acknowledged as one of the star producers in Puligny and we were lucky enough to be treated to a tasting of the entire flight. Their Puligny village wine, previously tasted in the 2006 version, is made from grapes picked from 7 different parcelles which are vinified separately and then blended. The 2007 has powerful block citrus aromas, barrel aged it is rounded, concentrated and nutty. Limited batonnage since that oxygenates the wine too much. There is real impact on the palate and stunning quality. And this is just the village A/C!
