This premier cru Santenay from the beefy 2005 vintage is bright, red/pink and suprisingly young looking. Immediately releases lovely rich, red berry fruit aromas with a chunk of beetroot lurking in the glass. Refreshing berry flavours, cassis, raspberry that are medium ripe. Quite a fine Santenay with pockets of minerality. Very plesant and very well made. The philosopher wins this contest by three lengths.
