Aloxe-Corton 2004, Domaine Rollin
This 2004 Aloxe from Domaine Rollin in Pernand boasts a consistent dark ruby red colour, vibrant black cherry and plum aromas with columns of licorice root, chives and sputnik hash. Impresses in the mouth with the typical foursquare Aloxe structure built round chewy terroir tannins and an ear-of-wheat and washed rice starch texture. A splendid wine to match a venison stew or rack of lamb in gravy. This well-structured, savoury Aloxe 2004 will benefit from another 3 years of bottle age. The photo shows the famous forested toupee of the Corton hill.
