Volnay 1er Cru "Taillepieds" 2007, Nicolas Rossignol
Courtesy of the Bibendum Burgundy tasting 2007. Nicolas Rossignol picked his pinot grapes on August 27th and the yield was 30 per cent below the average. Deep purple colour, meaty, toasty, ripe cherries, stones, plum crumble. There is a lively minerality at the end, rounded berry fruit, concentration and plenty of supple tannins. An elegant Volnay "comme il faut" with good ageing potential. Photo shows Nicolas Rossignol.
