Volnay 1er Cru "Les Caillerets" 2007, Nicolas Rossignol

Courtesy of the Bibendum Burgundy tasting 2007. Les Caillerets is one of the top Volnay vineyards. The aromas are a complex blend of earhty tones, strawberry, essence of pinot and roses. Rounded fruit, fresh acidity on the finish. Great length. This Volnay doesn't show much personality now but will evolve into a wonderful wine to be consumed alone in a quiet private library whilst listening to Tchaikovsky's Mazeppa.
