Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Cailles" 2007, Nicolas Potel

Courtesy of the Bibendum Burgundy tasting 2007. In September 2007 I was treated to a barrel tasting (with Random Punter) by Marco at the domaine Nicolas Potel. This Nuits 2007 didn't revive the pleasant memories of that 2 hour cellar session. Muted nose, oak dominated, strong flavoured plum, clunky rather than stylish on the palate. Like Clos de Vougeot, Nuits-Saint-Georges can be unpenetrable when young. Let's pray for better things. Photo shows the Bibendum tasting in full bloom.
