Fixin 2007, Méo-Camuzet

Courtesy of the Justerini & Brooks Burgundy 2007 tasting. "Poor old Fixin" I often think situated as it is next to the vastly superior and better known Gevrey. But this wine has personality! A big blast of fresh Vermont blueberries, combining in a unique and attractive way with the oak vanillins. Very clean fresh berry fruit and a clarity worthy of the waters of Interlaken. A youthful Fixin is the perfect companion for hard cheeses like comté and dare I say it drie jaar alt gouda.
