Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Fuées" 2007, Ghislaine Barthod

Courtesy of the Justerini & Brooks Burgundy 2007 tasting. Tasting this wine was like unwrapping a bottle of pinot clothed in a kimono. I pealed off layer after layer of berry fruit, toffee apple and Kings Parade fudge. Ripe cherry and strawberry on the palate with a remarkable silky texture. A true Chambolle although I find the high toast a little disconcerting. The photo quality seems to have declined later in the tasting.
