Bourgogne Blanc "Cuvée Oligocène" 2007, Patrick Javillier

Courtesy of the Justerini & Brooks Burgundy 2007 tasting. Another enjoyable Bourgogne blanc from a high quality producer. An inital waft of fennel (vintage characteristic?) evolves into apple and pear on the nose with continuity into a lovely mouth-filling tree fruit flavour. The 10 per cent new oak adds structure without obliterating the fruit. Photo shows apples in the orchard of Glastonbury Abbey the final resting place of King Arthur!
