Blagny 1er Cru "La Pièce Sous Le Bois" 2007, Domaine Matrot

Courtesy of the Corney & Barrow Burgundy 2007 tasting. What's the problem with Blagny? What is Blagny and who is he? Well M. Blagny is a rich blend of plum, cherry, strawberry. Excellent pure ripe fruit with limestone and a savoury character. Really enjoyable (if somewhat unknowable) personality. I offer £1,000 to anyone who spots a Blagny in a blind-tasting.
