In September 2007, Marco treated us to an excellent 2 hour barrel tasting in the
Nicolas Potel cellars just off the Route Nationale through Nuits. Classic medium-red colour; cherry and raspberry aromas that evolve into soft spice aromas of cummin, cloves and white pepper; a hint of demerera. This is a feminine style of Nuits from 2001 which was a pleasantly balanced year but a little lacking in punch. Another wine tasted at Hunan. Enjoyable when tasted but totally overwhelmed by the next wine (see above).
