Saint-Aubin 1er Cru "Le Charmois" 2005, Jobard-Chabloz

HMS Belfast, the world war two destroyer bizarrely parked in the middle of the Thames next to Tower Bridge, turned out to be a tremendous location for a tasting. Initial honey notes bring on peach and gentle tropical fruits, marmalade, caramel and vanilla. Wonderful freshness, attack and good citrus length. The potency, backbone acidity and ripe yellow stone fruit suggest a good 3 years of evolution left for this Saint-Aubin. A charming wine as the name suggests. Just like the Healy Hunt tasters as captured on the video.
