Meursault "Grands Charron" 2000, Forgot Domaine

Another wine tasted at the Planet of the Grapes wine bar in the City during a fantastic 4 hour tasting session covering Burgundy, Bordeaux, Walker Bay, the Mosel and Piemonte. The bottle disappeared before I could note down the domaine name which is unfortunate because this was a classic. Fine aromas of rock salt, fresh lemon, minerals, white oak and baked fish bones. Its hard to over-emphasise the wonderful Jurassic quality of this wine. Poetic, racy, superb minerality on the palate. Proof again that 2000 can offer special wines. The photo shows some fossil hunters on Dorset's Jurassic coast.
