This Chassagne is produced by negociant Michel Coutoux who is the son in law of the famous Michel Niellon. The colour is rich gold and announces a potent first nose of musk, icing sugar and creme anglaise. After a few minutes russet apple, nashi pear and gentle hawthorn scents come to the fore. Incredibly unctuous and richly-textured on the palate with a wrapper of sappy sourness. This Morgeot is true to the characteristics of the lieu-dit... its all about the power and the glory. Michel Coutoux must impose very exacting standards on the yields and the triage to achieve this quality as a negociant. Another shining example of the "garage negociant" trend. A very enjoyable beverage now and has the structure to mature profitably until 2011.
