This Gevrey 2005 represents the vintage perfectly: just 2 years and 8 months after the harvest it is drinking well, full of ripe cherry and plum fruit. Potent on the palate and dominated by fruit. The balance is tilted towards the sugars and fruit, rather than acidity and tannins, so unlikely to develop savoury and sophisticated characteristics. Excellent match with steak fiorentina or chateaubriand.
