Saint-Aubin "La Princee" 2005, Domaine Hubert Lamy

Not for some time have I tasted a white 2005. This Saint-Aubin village wine has a light old gold colour with a suggestion of pink. Open aromas of almond and apricot. And on the palate it has breadth from ripe chardonnay fruit with a dry oak tannin edge. Primarily ripe apricot flavours with crystallized orange and residual elements of dried pineapple chunks. Very very tasty and representative of 2005. Not, however, the more racy mineral style I prefer. Would be interesting to compare with a Stellenbosch! Imbibe between now and early 2010.
