Other wines from Vincent Girardin, a high quality negociant, have won plaudits from the Burgoblog team such as the
Saint-Aubin 1er Cru 2005 and the
Savingy 2004 but this Santenay failed to impress. Fairly flat nose with few aromatic undulations. Warmed on the palate with some citrus, fruit-driven characteristics. Round and pleasant enough but small and restricted like a Mini Metro. Overall this is an underwhelming wine from a vintage which has typically been very open.
