Chambolle-Musigny 2006, Ghislaine Barthod

I was delighted to have the opportunity to taste the Shambles from Ghislaine Barthod since I succumbed to food poisoning prior to a planned visit to the domaine in 2006. Her wines are considered one of the classics of the village. The photo shows Mme Barthod in her courtyard in May 2006. Vibrant pinkish red colour, very fragrant perfumed nose primarily of sweet vanillins. Fresh, delicate berry fruits on the palate and no hint of being unripe despite the freshness. Fruit weight balances well with the acidity. A real refresher!
