Aloxe-Corton 2006, Follin-Arbelet

The Follin-Arbelet domaine has a good reputation often featuring in the Guide Hachette which is always a guarantee of a certain level of quality. This Aloxe villages is a light purple pink colour, toasty oak nose with decent berry fruit. A tad sour initially, definitely high toned raspberry and cranberry flavours, a slightly astringent and tannic finish. Not obviously a pleasing wine. Perhaps this bottle wasn't showing well... I'm should think not representative of their accomplishments.
