Pommard 1er Cru "Les Epenots" 1999, Nicolas Potel

Tasted in the useful but disappointingly small half-bottle format at the Tate Britain restaurant I was intrigued to try this wine following the 2 hour barrel tasting in September 2008 with Marco seen above in the beige polo shirt. A cherry colour, smells like Barolo cherry and leather. On the palate a little sour with an interesting hinterland of dates and lebkuchen. Expected more from this wine, this producer and the vintage. [ NB The appreciation may have been impaired slightly by the preceding 4 wines at the Tate Britain restaurant.]
