Tasted blind in the wine-imbiber's mecca of Saffron Walden this Saint-Romain has a light to medium yellow colour, aromas of pear, toast, marzipan, musk, and a very slight hint of Vouvray-like botrytis. This is real quality. On the palate excellent balance, pleasant mineral texture and good yellow stone fruit. An impressive wine second time around.
