Volnay 1er Cru "Les Santenots" 2005, Vincent Girardin

Rich red colour. Blackberry leaps out of the glass capturing the ripe berry fruit typical of the 2005 vintage. Ripe plum and tinned tomato. Violets and possible even stewed or sun-dried aubergine. Excellent crunchy mineral fruit on the palate, a lovely smooth finish and in sum a very suave style. Tasted at the caveau de Chassagne.
