Ladoix 1er Cru "Les Hautes Mourottes" 2006, Capitain-Gagnerot

Hay yellow colour. Aromas of vanilla, lemon with an edge of fresh pineapple juice. Chewy, ripe yellow fruit on the palate in a broad fruit-dominated style. Medium to low acidity, generous, rounded. Not particularly dry or savoury possibly due to the minimal use of new oak barrels by this domaine (only one-sixth). An attractive Ladoix which is generally an atypical white Burgundy with heavier a more yellow fruit than the classic whites. Mature Ladoix are good with egg dishes like oeuf en meurette (eggs poached in a red wine stock) or oeuf parfait with truffles. Tasted at the domaine.
