Corton-Charlemagne 2006, Capitain-Gagnerot

Bright medium yellow with a green tint. Immediately appealing nose of fresh citrus, Cox's apple, russet apple, oak and vanilla. This grand cru tastes of pear and has an incredible concentrated citrus flavour which continues long after swallowing. The texture is mineral and unlike other Corton-Charlemagne this production from Capitain-Gagnerot is more fruit-driven and has more finesse due to the minimal use of new oak barrels (only one sixth) where other domaine use up to 100%. An exciting wine which will be ready for consumption in 3 years time.
