Chassagne-Montrachet 2005, Marc Morey

Thich red colour with a very slightly foxy rim. Cherry-dominated nose with a blend of raspberry, strawberry and background oak. Rich berry fruit becomes slightly raisiny with an element of mincepie. Delicate with softened tannins, a green stalky liveliness which is good for a 2005, drinking very well now but could evolve for another 2 years. Tasted at La Clef de Voute a splendid new restaurant in Beaune.
