This is a photograph of the Corton hill viewed from the road between Beaune and Pernand. This Aloxe has a cherry red colour, bright fruit aromas which are immediately present in the glass. Interesting evolution to red currant, raspberry and blood orange. Fairly strong and aggressive tannic finish with a block structure that makes one think of Stonehenge despite the good ripe berry fruit. Really needs time to open up - at least 2 years. To be drunk with wildboar and juniper sauce or a pan-fried mallard breast with cherries.
