Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes" 1995, Remoisset

Tasting note from Burgundy connoisseur Daniel Simon. Glorious aged Meursault of a pale golden hue with yellow highlights. Slight vegetal aroma cleared to reveal a lemony biscuityness which blossomed in time into a full nose of apricots. Full rich palate - very well integrated - with an oily mierality, excellent acidity and good savoury notes, almost a saltiness. An excellent length left an aftertaste of bitter almonds and as the wine evolved luscious peach and apricot notes appeared along with some toffee. Enjoyed with foie gras and pea soup, albeit not simultaneously.
