Pouilly-Fuisse "Vielles Vignes" 2005, Pierre Vessigaud

Tasted in perfect conditions this wine had a medium yellow colour which was consistent throughout. Fairly rich legs. First nose of pears, yellow peaches. It is very fruit-driven and clean cut. After 15 minutes the aromas transitioned into vanilla yoghurt. As is often the case with a Pully-Fussy, the wine has luscious and delicious fruit on the palate. The fruit body is fresh and also slightly tropical (pineapple) with a medium-dry texture and medium minus acidity. Good balance considering the vintage and has yet to show its vieilles vignes qualities. Keep until 2009. Compare it with the Alliance Vergisson 2002 tasting notes which show what sort of evolution to expect over the next 2 years. Definitely more complexity to come.
