Nuits-Saint-Georges 2004, Henri Gouges

Tasted blind along with the other red 2004s listed above and below. Medium-red, the first nose is slighty green like artichoke, then opens up to orange rind and saddle leather. The aromas finish on orange marmalade, gamey-metallic baking tray, with real vibrance. The tannins are a tad green combined with highish acidity pushes the finish into being just a little sour. Hard to make the call on its future personality. More info on the Nuits-St-Georges based Henri Gouges estate at http://www.gouges.com/.
