Gevrey-Chambertin 2001, Dupont-Tisserandot

Tasted on April 4th, 2007. This wine is a dark red colour, the first nose is of briar and black currant; this evolves to a fragrant and ripe strawberry with a hint of licorice; the final nose is more powerful with elements of almond, ripe berry fruits, black cherry, and even peach. On the palate the tannins are rounded, ripe and mature, balanced with medium acidity and pleasant cherry fruit. Not a butch Gevrey but certainly a delicious one. In a word: gouleyant.
