Morey-Saint-Denis 2004, Pierre Amiot

This wine is a medium-red, transparent colour. First nose before swilling offers mineral aromas and an edge of celery. The aromas evolve to red currant stalks and orange rind and remain faint. Aromas plateau on slightly unripe berries and geranium or green flowers. On the palate the wine is light, fresh, fruity, green, with medium-high acidity. Would slice through a confit de canard wonderfully. No need to wait -- a great food wine.
