Pernand-Vergelesses “Les Combottes” 2015, Chavy / Guilaumond / Bruchon

Second wine tasted blind in a flight of four, this had a medium yellow, thick colour and is obviously viscous. First nose of orang, yellow apple and fireworks. The rich colour, viscosity and ripe nose point to a warmer vintage. Evolves to more creamy and patisserie notes. Rich, integrated, buttery on the palate with additional flavours of orange cake, nutmeg and oak spices. Guessed as a Meursault 2015 due to the richness, spice and butter. This was a surprisingly big Pernand-Vergelesses and has been produced by a collective of Alain Chavy, two Guillamonds and J-G Bruchon under the name Les Vireux. Scores 78/100.
