Chambolle-Musigny 2012, Jean-Jacques Confuron
Tasted at Le Montrachet restaurant in Puligny which now (finally) has a new head chef who has improved the quality and consistency of the cooking dramatically since the prior chef lost the Michelin star two years ago. Concentrated nose of red plum, black currant and aniseed. Hints of clove. Very smooth on the palate yet with convincing body and a caressing length. Another proof point that the 2012s are opening up now and the village-level wines can be popped open.
