Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru "Les Duresses" 2008, Jean-Louis Moissenet-Bonnard

Transparent ruby red with brick tints. This pinot noir is showing it's decennial status. Raspberry, sweet aniseed, orange, fragrant, cloves, warm cherry, gamey. A classic Burgundian pinot and very much of the 2008 vintage with sweetness and spice. On the palate this Auxey 1er Cru offers orange, cranberry, evolved tannins, dried ornage, it's saline and drying out a bit but is still lively and has sufficient fruit. I continue to admire the "old school" style of the wines from this domaine.
