Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Chaumes" 2015, Arnoux Lachaux

I have often tasted wines from Domaine Arnoux Lachaux at the annual en primeur Burgundy tasting in London. I have never been hugely impressed so I thought it would be a good idea to throw a bottle into a blind tasting. This 2015 Vosne has a medium red ruby colour. A plum nose which moves onto rye bread, Savoy cabbage, ripe plum and saffron. It is structured and serious on the palate. More Weber than Byron for sure. Hazelnuts and tannins with medium acidity. Not really convincing. Scores 74/100 which is on the lower end for a Vosne 1er Cru from a strong vintage like 2015. And at £100 this had zero fans amongst the eleven tasters. Photo shows some pinot clusters in Vosne on August 10, 2011. Don't you just want to pluck them and take them home?
