Meursault 1er Cru "Bouchères" 2011, Comtes Lafon

Meursault-Bouchères is a small and less well known premier cru lieu dit and was recently acquired from both Domaine Roulot and Domaine Manuel. Tasted at the domaine this Meursault-Bouchères hails from the top of the hill above the village, the terroir has a thin soil and due to the exposition the grapes can mature very quickly prior to harvest. This is reflected in the 2011 which has a gloopy yellow fruit impact on the front palate and then is saved with a mineral uplift on the back palate. A wine of contrasts which may need more time to integrate or perhaps is top-heavy with ripe yellow stone fruit. Scores 21-22/30 for a Meursault premier cru.
