Meursault "Les Grands Charrons" 2009, Prunier-Bonheur

Unfortunately we didn't meet "Big Sharon" at the tasting, may be next time, but we did get to try "Les Grands  Charrons" with M. Pruning-Happiness. Aged in 20% new oak barrels this Meursault 2009 has pear and white flower aromas. My concern is growing that the overly-ripe chardonnay grapes have lost their elegance and complexity on the nose... Good freshness, nice fat, ripe apple, melon, a fresh uplifting finish, superb balance and really enjoyable. Most likely will be more interesting on the nose from 2013 onwards. TTC 26 euros from the cellar door so good value. Scores 21 / 30 for a Meursault appellation. Worth noting: this is the one hundredth Meursault tasting note on Burgoblog and I have reached just 50 for Puligny!
