Saint-Aubin 1er Cru "Fleurs de Coteaux" 2009, Domaine Matrot

This Saint-Aubin 1er Cru is produced from 40 year old vines. The wine is fermented for 8-10 weeks in barrel with between 15% new oak in this 2009 vintage. Tasted at the domaine, this Saint-Aubin 1er Cru 2009 offers a very pure lemon nose with a hint of apricot. Very clean. Almond, apricot, rounded, delightful, generous and sweet. Luckily the domaine has a few older vintages so I look forward to a vertical from 2002 to 2009. Would be interesting to compare blind with Saint-Aubins from other top producers like Domaine Hubert Lamy and Domaine Jean Chartron.
