Puligny-Montrachet 2009, Etienne Sauzet

I am no stranger to the wines of Etienne Sauzet having tasted the full flight of 2007s at the domaine in July 2009. For me this domaine is like the Krug of Burgundy: luxury, guaranteed quality no matter what the vintage and a strong house style. The wine-maker has brought the ripe characteristics of the 2009 vintage under control. Citrus even savoury nose with a strong dose of oak. Consistent, robust, savoury, taut on the palate with a coil of citrus fruit. Quality upheld.
