Meursault "Les Grands Charrons" 2007, Sébastien Magnien

Another wine tasted at the Domaine Sébastien Magnien in Meursault. The domaine owns 11 hectares of vines split equally between red and white but with a good sized dollop up in the Hautes-Côtes. This Meursault is aged in a mixture of new (15%), 1 year old, 2 year old and 3 or more year old fûts de chêne. The nose starts on a classic lemon note, a hint of almond peeps through, this is a cautious flautist at the music lesson who risks not being able to blow. Mineral and citrus on the palate. Un vin digeste. I'd give it another year and then serve with a Dover sole grilled on the bone à la Rick Stein. Photo shows chardonnay grapes in Meursault on August 11, 2010.
