Pommard 1er Cru "Les Epenots" 2001, Moissenet-Bonnard

Sombre, dark red velvet colour reminiscent of a Marrakech riad at midnight. Intense nose of damson jam, black forest gateau, cherry liqueur chocolate, sweet black licorice, candied orange. This fatty, soft tannin, broad-flavoured pinot makes no apologies for its decadence. Non-filtered and made in an almost ripasso style with seemingly late-picked grapes. Lacks acidity though. Photo shows the Epenots vineyard on June 24th in 2007.
