Happy New Year! Bonne Année! The "La Chatenière" lieu dit is on a south-west facing slope tucked behind the village of Gamay which lies on the road between Chassagne and Saint-Aubin. The aromas are intriguing although they lack potency. Waxed apple peel, orange, lemon. Hints of oriental golden needle mushrooms and egg white. Excellent attack on the palate with healthy oak tannins, pungent citrus fruits and a russet apple flavour. Mouth-filling texture. Well-made but it lacks the concentration and complexity when compared with a Meursault or Puligny respectively. When
