Courtesy of the Corney & Barrow Burgundy 2007 tasting. The locals say that the distinguishing thing about the Blagny lieu-dit is that it can be planted with pinot or chardonnay. This white Meursault Blagny reminded me of an English ploughman's lunch: apple, cheese and bread. A little disconcerting but one needs to keep an open mind. More classic on the palate: lovely lemon, apple, tangerine flavours with good concentration. This wine is not vinified in new oak hence the pure fruit.
