Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2007, Château de La Tour

Courtesy of the Corney & Barrow Burgundy 2007 tasting. I have previously confessed to struggling to decipher the pinotglyphics of a young Clos de Vougeot and this bottle from Château de La Tour is no different. Earthy and granitic there is more structure than fruit and flavour. On the palate plum and cherry fruit is present but not obvious. Just not sure if this is worth the price tag compared to a really charming Gevrey or Vosne. Especially since I wasn't bowled over by the Clos de Vougeot 1988 from the same vineyard tasted just a week ago.
