Meursault "Les Tillets" 2006, Patrick Javillier

The Javillier family has owned vineyards in the Côte-de-Beaune for centuries and has focused on wine-making since 1945. Patrick Javillier ferments the whites 100% in barrel with 25% new oak and ages the wines on the lees for several months. The results are impressive even for this Tillets village-quality lieu dit. Immediate impression is of an ultra-classic white Burgundy, lemon, oak and a hint of peach. Rich and fat like a private equitist, potent flavours of melon, peach and apricot reminiscent of a Condrieu. A broad and giving style. Very Meursault.
