Gevrey-Chambertin 2006, Drouhin-Laroze

Drouhin-Laroze is one of the top Côte-de-Nuits domaines with vineyards in grands crus like Bonnes Mares, Le Musigny, and Clos de Vougeot not to mention the Gevrey grands crus. Their reasonably-priced Gevrey villages has a bright cherry colour, ripe bramble aromas, fairly deep and spicy, savoury in the mouth with a decent structure, not a huge amount of length and possibly a hint of green. Not compelling tasted at this early stage but should be as good as their Gevrey 2001 but unlikely to be on a par with their Gevrey 1999.
