Pouilly-Fuisse 2004, Chateau de Rontets
Tasted at Kensington Place an ancient inn in Nothing Hill. After opening the wine offered few aromas despite the appealing medium yellow colour. But after forgiving the neutrality for 10 minutes this evolved to oranges, marmalade and bakground creme brulee. Great balance on the palate with uncharacteristic freshness for a Fuisse due to the good 2004 acidity. Tasty now but will surely offer more in 2009 when the structure has evolved and tertiary aromas broken out from the shell.
